Born in Cannes, France, Sandy Delasalle is a Principal Rehearsal Director, Choreographer, Ballet Coach and Mentor with stage experience of over 35 years.

She was the Artistic Associate of West Australian Ballet under Aurelien Scannella’s leadership for 11 years bringing the company to world class standard .

Sandrine’s training started with Rosella Hightower in Cannes and Marika Besobrasova in Monte Carlo. After presenting Prix de Lausanne, she received her first contract as Demi-Soloist at the age of 17 with “Baseler Ballett” under the directorship of Heinz Spoerli and was appointed Principal Dancer at the age of 21.

During her career Sandrine performed as a Principal Dancer in Europe’s most prestigious companies such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Ballet am Rhein (Dusseldorf), Ballet Frankfurt, Ballet Leipzig, Ballet du Rhin (Mulhouse), working with the most acclaimed choreographers such as: William Forsythe, David Dawson, Johan Inger, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Maurice Béjart, Hans van Manen, Jiri Killian, Nacho Duato,  Angelin Preljocaj, Mario Schröder, Heinz Spoerli, Uwe Sholz, Youri Vamos, Ray Barra, Lucinda Childs and Krzysztof Pastor.

Her successful carrier led her to be invited to numerous Galas around the World. She was the very first guest artist at the World Ballet Stars Festival in Ukraine organised by Vadim Pisarev with whom she was performing at the time.

Sandrine was invited to celebrate her teacher’s anniversary Rosella Hightower by Monique Loudiere, sharing the stage alongside her husband Aurelien Scannella, Jose Martinez and Agnes Letestu.

She performed Swan Lake by Uwe Scholz at the Gala Millenium 2000 with Aurelien under the baton of Mikhail Jurowski.

Sandrine has worked with renowned ballet directors such as Heinz Spoerli, Sylviane Bayard, Ben Van Cauwenbergh, Bertrand D’at. Under their leadership she had the great pleasure to dance Le Parc (with Laurent Hilaire), Don Quixote (with Eric Vu An), Romeo and Juliette, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, In The Middle Somewhat Elevated and Swan Lake being her most significant roles.

Since January 2024, Sandrine is a Freelance Ballet teacher, Choreographer, Founder & Co-Director of Ballet4Wellbeing.

Sandrine was acknowledged in the “Business Women of the Year” (2017) alongside many other creative and inspiring women. She is one of the few West Australian women being included in the modern day woman mouvement.
